Mohammad Abunemeh d2061da389 Use distinct filenames for smart-case regression 
Give the fixtures different numeric suffixes so they remain separate files on case-insensitive filesystems while testing the same pattern matching behavior.

Mohammad Abunemeh e422fc3027 Fix smart-case detection with inline case-insensitive flags 
Inspect literal characters in the regex AST rather than the case-folded HIR. Otherwise an inline (?i) flag introduces uppercase alternatives and incorrectly makes other --and patterns case-sensitive.

Add unit and CLI regressions, including scoped flags and explicit case-sensitivity options.

yuwk 15417fbb7f fix(completion): suggest the accepted --type alias dir in the zsh completion 
FileType::Directory accepts d, dir and directory (src/cli.rs:809), and both fd -h and doc/fd.1:215 document the dir spelling, but the fd_types list in contrib/completion/_fd only offered d and directory. _fdfind delegates to _fd, so it is covered by the same change.

Yuri Astrakhan 3a11690fa2 fix: point cargo-binstall at the fd release asset 
`{ name }` renders as the crate name, so cargo-binstall looked for
`fd-find-v10.5.0-<target>.tar.gz`, got a 404, and fell back to the
QuickInstall mirror. The assets are named `fd-v<version>-<target>`.
`{ bin }` is not available in `pkg-url`, so the name is spelled out.

Thayne McCombs 3b3baeaad5 refactor: Avoid depending on ignore implementation detail 
This refactors how we handle ignore::Error in our walk code so that we
don't depend on the implementation detail of how the different Error
enum values are nested. It may also have a slight perfermance benefit
since we only walk the chain of errors once, instead of multiple times.

mrhard9090andClaude Opus 5.5 e46230b2c3 test: Don't fail on Windows without echo and GNU ls 
`test_exec_with_separator` runs `echo`, which is only a shell builtin on
Windows. Skip it there, like the other `echo` tests.

`test_list_details` requires GNU `ls` on Windows. Without it, check that
`--list-details` reports that it is not supported.

Fixes #1332

Thayne McCombs 24198d904a fix: Better sanitizing 
This refactors the sanitization code somewhat, to provide a couple
benefits:

- Ensure we sanitize output in error messages (#2119), while not
  escaping newlines from error messages.
- Avoids some unnecessary allocations and string copies
- Makes `print_error` a little nicer to use. As a macro, it avoids
  needing a separate call to `format!`.

The main downside is added complexity.

Jason Wang b422e5d8c9 fix: allow hyphen-leading --format templates 
Clap treated a space-separated --format value that starts with '-' as a
new flag. Enable allow_hyphen_values for --format (same as --and) and
add a regression covering markdown-list-style templates. See #2126.
