These classes wrap native C handles (libxml2 writer/reader, SNMP
session, libTidy document/node) that cannot survive serialization.
Unserializing produces a broken object with NULL internal pointers, and
tidyNode segfaults on use.
bug72479.phpt exercised a UAF via unserialize() of SNMP; NOT_SERIALIZABLE
rejects the class outright, closing that vector by construction.
Fixes GH-21682
Closes GH-21694
libxml2 2.13+ rejects unencoded non-ASCII bytes in SYSTEM URIs via
xmlBuildURISafe and emits "Can't resolve URI", which breaks four tests
when the source tree lives under a path like "~/下载/". Skip them with
a clear reason on such paths, and loosen the EXPECTF for the two tests
that previously matched only "failed to load" so both libxml2 message
formats are accepted.
close GH-22150
This is in preparation for the possible future transformation of `clone` into a
function call, but also meaningful on its own, since the purpose of the tests
is not to test the stack trace generation, but rather that an exception was
thrown. It also cleans up some unreachable code in the tests.
3 issues:
1) RETURN_NULL() was used via the macro NODE_GET_OBJ(), but the function
returns false on failure and cannot return null according to its
stub.
2) The struct layout of the different implementors of libxml only
guarantees overlap between the node pointer and the document
reference, so accessing the std zend_object may not work.
3) DOC_GET_OBJ() wasn't using ZSTR_VAL().
Closes GH-16307.
This also fixes skipped tests due to different naming "zend-test"
instead of "zend_test" and "PDO" instead of "pdo":
- ext/dom/tests/libxml_global_state_entity_loader_bypass.phpt
- ext/simplexml/tests/libxml_global_state_entity_loader_bypass.phpt
- ext/xmlreader/tests/libxml_global_state_entity_loader_bypass.phpt
- ext/zend_test/tests/observer_sqlite_create_function.phpt
EXTENSIONS section is used for the Windows build to load the non-static
extensions.
Closes GH-13276
It looks like the config.w32 uses CHECK_HEADER_ADD_INCLUDE to add the include
path to libxml into the search path.
That doesn't happen in zend-test.
To add to the Windows trouble, libxml is statically linked in, ext/libxml can
only be built statically but ext/zend-test can be built both statically and
dynamically.
So the regression tests won't work in all possible configurations anyway on Windows.
All of this is no problem on Linux because it just uses dynamic linking
and pkg-config, without any magic.

Fixes GHSA-3qrf-m4j2-pcrr.
To parse a document with libxml2, you first need to create a parsing context.
The parsing context contains parsing options (e.g. XML_NOENT to substitute
entities) that the application (in this case PHP) can set.
Unfortunately, libxml2 also supports providing default set options.
For example, if you call xmlSubstituteEntitiesDefault(1) then the XML_NOENT
option will be added to the parsing options every time you create a parsing
context **even if the application never requested XML_NOENT**.
Third party extensions can override these globals, in particular the
substitute entity global. This causes entity substitution to be
unexpectedly active.
Fix it by setting the parsing options to a sane known value.
For API calls that depend on global state we introduce
PHP_LIBXML_SANITIZE_GLOBALS() and PHP_LIBXML_RESTORE_GLOBALS().
For other APIs that work directly with a context we introduce
php_libxml_sanitize_parse_ctxt_options().
The current error message is incorrect -- the problem here is not
that the property is invalid, but that these methods are unusable
prior to loading data, same as read().
This deprecates passing null to non-nullable scale arguments of
internal functions, with the eventual goal of making the behavior
consistent with userland functions, where null is never accepted
for non-nullable arguments.
This change is expected to cause quite a lot of fallout. In most
cases, calling code should be adjusted to avoid passing null. In
some cases, PHP should be adjusted to make some function arguments
nullable. I have already fixed a number of functions before landing
this, but feel free to file a bug if you encounter a function that
doesn't accept null, but probably should. (The rule of thumb for
this to be applicable is that the function must have special behavior
for 0 or "", which is distinct from the natural behavior of the
parameter.)

Closes GH-6475.
Additionally normalize to using $namespace rather than $uri for
namespace parameters, including in XMLReader and XMLWriter. I went
with that one as it is currently used by DOM, SimpleXML and XSL --
and our DOM parameter names follow the DOM specification.
Closes GH-6295.
