Return the instance that passed both VM and runtime readiness checks. Report the latest failed readiness check without retaining failures superseded by newer progress. A describe or probe that the deadline cuts off saw nothing, so it does not replace the last observation. Bound readiness commands with the polling context and recheck the runtime after cloud-init or kernel updates. When the context can be canceled, the ssh and gcloud commands get a WaitDelay, so a descendant that inherited their pipes, such as a ProxyCommand, cannot hold the call open past the deadline. Calls that cannot be canceled still wait for the pipes, because WaitDelay also turns a normal exit that leaves them open into an error.
